Namco and Capcom have announced a new strategy RPG, titled Namco x Capcom. The Monolith Soft-developed game will feature more than 200 well-known characters from major game series. Curently 70% complete, the game will feature 3D maps and an animated intro sequence done by anime studio behind Ghost in the Shell and the Tales series anime sequences, Production IG. Takuji Kawano, who recently worked on Tekken 4 and Soul Calibur II for Namco, is acting as character illustrator. System-wise, Namco x Capcom will feature death blows and combination attacks. Easy action sequences will be implemented in the form of cut-ins. The two main characters will be Reiji Arisu and Shao Mu.
