12.01.04 - 7:08 PM

Nintendo has added two high profile RPGs to its DS release date list. So far, both games are tentatively called Xenosaga DS and Baten Kaitos DS and like their PlayStation 2 and GameCube cousins will be published by developer Monolith Software's parent company Namco. Whether the two titles will be remakes, gaidens or new installments has yet to be announced. Furthermore, it remains to be seen, whether Monolith Software, which so far has only worked on PlayStation 2 and GameCube titles will be responsible for the development of the two games.

Xenosaga Episode I: Der Wille zur Macht (The Will to Power) for PlayStation 2 was released in Japan in February 2002. On June 24th, Namco released the game's sequel Xenosaga Episode II: Jenseits von Gut und Boese (Beyond Good and Evil). Episode II will be available in North America on February 15th 2005. Baten Kaitos - Owaranai Tsubasa Ushinawareta Umi (Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean) was originally released for the GameCube in Japan in December 2003, with the US version hitting American retail store shelves only last month.

Xenosaga DS and Baten Kaitos DS have yet to receive official release dates.
