Idea Factory has revealed first details regarding its first PlayStation Portable title Shinten Makai Generation of Chaos IV: Another Side. As the game's title suggests, this simulation RPG will closely resemble its PlayStation 2 cousin, Shinten Makai: Generation of Chaos IV, at least system-wise. Upon entering one of the game's real-time simulation battles the terrain will have significant effects on the various units. Depending on a unit's formation, its capabilities will differ. Furthermore, if certain conditions are met, generals will be able to perform powerful death blows, whose effects might differ depending on the character executing them. The game's protagonist is Aren, prince of the world's oldest human empire, the Kingdom of Zodia. According to Aren, the damage of crimes committed by man against other inhabitants of the world have to be repaired by man. Character-wise, the development team is also implementing some well-known faces from previous installments of both, the Generation of Chaos and the Spectral Force series. In addition to Aren, the following characters will make an appearance in the game: The female magic knight Fel. Susuo, the queen of the kingdom of Muromari, the fencer Rain, the trouble maker Orochi Maru, a highly capable and mysterious man whose face is half hidden behind an owl-shaped mask and who is hence called Fukurou (Fukurou means owl in Japanese), Spectral Force heroine Hiro, Generation of Chaos heroine Rose as well as the protagonists of Spectral Force and Generation of Chaos III, Elir and Veres.

Shinten Makai Generation of Chaos IV: Another Side will be available in Japan on February 24th for 4,800 yen ($46.82 US).
