More Matrix Online Details Revealed 11.13.04 - 2:46 AM Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Sega have confirmed that the movie triology's actors are also lending their voices to their virtual alter-egos set to appear in the Monolith Productions-developed MMORPG The Matrix Online. Laurence Fishburne (Morpheus), Monica Bellucci (Persephone), Mary Alice (The Oracle), Lambert Wilson (The Merovingian), Harold Perrineau Jr. (Link), Harry Lennix (Lock), Nona Gaye (Zee), Collin Chou (Seraph) and Tanveer Atwal (Sati) have all provided the voice acting to bring their respective characters to live in the game. Furthermore, Don Davis, who has already provided the score of the movies will resume his role as composer of The Matrix Online. A major feature of the game will be duels between allied players. A duel can be initiated by typing "/duel" in the chat window. Provided the other user accepts the challenge, the battle will begin and only come to an end if one the two duelists surrenders, is killed by his opponent or an outside force, or runs away. This player vs player mode can only be initiated among allies, who are a. not on a mission team, b. not in combat and c. visible on the respective client. Team vs team duels will allow for teams of up to eight players to engage each other. Furthermore, Monolith Productions is implementing the Archive into the game. While players can actually fight members of opposing organisations in mini worlds outside the Matrix, so-called Constructs. In addition to those Constructs, the Archive also hosts heavily guarded non-PvP safe zones of each of the three organisations. Since the Archive is a remnant of an older version of the Matrix, it still contains valuable secrets. To get your hands on these secrets it will not only be necessary to deal with the competition, but also the Archivists, who are determined to keep their secrets of their order secrets, themselves. The Matrix Online will be available for the PC platform on January 18th 2005.
