Sanrio, creators of the popular Hello Kitty franchise, has announced plans to release an MMORPG based on their most successful product. Hello Kitty World will allow players to "live and participate in Hello Kitty's magical and cute online world." Players will be able to visit locales such as Kitty Kingdom, the XO Federation, and Melodyland. Similar to A Tale in the Desert, Hello Kitty World will not be combat based (much to the chagrin of most), but will feature a full-fledged economy. Players will also be able to build their own homes and fully outfit them.

Players can choose more than fifty face and body types, with over five hundred pieces of clothing for their character. Once they have allocated enough funding, players can purchase and decorate their own homes with posters from movies, such as Harry Potter and Casablanca. Players will also be able to bring up "Angels" as pets, which are similar to handheld Tamagotchis.
