Square Enix, Namco, Sega and Taito has announced an agreement, under which the four companies will jointly offer cellphone-based content to Chinese costumers. To that aim, the content of all four companies will be licensed to Beijing-based Square Enix Webstar Network Technology, a subsidary of Square Enix in China, which in turn will sublicense said content to BeiJing Mobit Infomation Technology for distribution in the network of China Mobile Communication Corporation, the leading operator in mainland China.

Previously, Square Enix has already sent its former vice president Keiji Honda to China to lead its local operations in this growing market. The company's biggest business right now is its PC-based MMORPG Cross Gate, which boasts a userbase of 14 million.
