09.06.04 - 3:08 AM

Square Enix has revealed that connection problems have occured during the current beta testing phase of its cellphone-based Final Fantasy VII prequel Before Crisis: Final Fantasy VII. Due to higher than expected numbers of accesses and the resulting higher server load, users might find it hard to access the application. The company has registered 1.6 million accesses by users since the beta test began on August 31st. During peak times, 16,000 users accessed the NTT DoCoMo FOMA-based game in one hour. Square Enix promised the problem would be addressed before the game's commerical launch later this month.

Before Crisis: Final Fantasy VII will be available in Japan on September 24th.
