New Fire Emblem: Seima no Kouseki Details Revealed
08.30.04 - 4:13 AM

Nintendo has updated the official website for the newest Game Boy Advance installment of the long-running Fire Emblem series, Fire Emblem: Seima no Kouseki. As the game's title suggests, its story will revolve around two different kinds of stones: Holy and Demon Stones, the former capable of sealing evil magic, the latter holding extreme power. Apart from the two protagonists, prince Ephraim and princess Eirik, four additional characters have been revealed in Seth, Tethys, Jhosua and Larchel. Depending on the player's choice, the game's story will unfold in different days. Complementing the standard map is a so-called EX Map. Unlike standard maps, EX maps allow players to fight battles as often as they wish, in order to raise the stats of their party members. When certain conditions are met, it is possible to upgrade a character's class. At that point, players can choose between two available classes. For instance, an armor knight can upgraded to either a general or a great knight. A normal myrmidon can be turned into a sword master or an assassin. While the tutorial function of the prequel Rekka no Ken will return, the developers at Intelligent Systems are also implementing a dictionary function, providing explanations to important content.

Fire Emblem: Seima no Kouseki will be released in Japan on October 7th for 4,800 yen ($43.96 US).
