In a recent interview, Sakura Taisen and Tengai Makyou series mastermind Ouji Hiroi talked about one of his current projects, Tengai Makyou III: Namida. The Hudson-developed PlayStation 2 title is currently 70% complete. Asked about the differences between the planned PC Engine and PC-FX releases, and the current project, Hiroi mentioned that it was a different time and his personal way of thinking has also changed. He also spoke about the difficulties of selecting voice actors capable of communicating the personalities of the game's cast. At the end of the interview, he apologized to fans for the delays, while at the same time asking for their patience as every member of the development team was working to complete the game.

Tengai Makyou III: Namida will be released in Japan sometime this year.
