06.20.04 - 12:33 PM

Square Enix has announced that vice president Keiji Honda has become a regular member of the company's board of directors. Previously, Honda was a representative director with executive powers, however his new position as Shanghai-based point man of Square Enix's Chinese operations have made this change necessary.

The 47-year old Fukuoka native and Waseda graduate joined Enix in 1987 and became the company's president and CEO in 2000. Following Enix's merger with Square, Honda assumed his current role as vice president of Square Enix. Earlier this year he moved to Shanghai in order to oversee his company's expansion on the Chinese market.
