Gravity Announces International Ragnarok Tournament

Gravity Interactive has announced the United States Ragnarok Championships. The event is aimed to pick the best US players for the first Ragnarok Online World Championship. On July 17th and 18th, the best players from 18 countries, including South Korea, Japan, China, the US, Germany and Brazil will fight for the Ragnarok crown. Each country will be represented by two guilds made up of nine players each. The US Championships will take place from June 10th to June 16th. During that time guilds will compete with each other in ten minute tournament-style elimination events. The two winning teams will then fly to the South Korean capital in mid-July. In addition to this event, the best two US teams will win a free trip to the Anime Expo in Anaheim, California. There both guilds will fight over who will be the first American Ragnarok Champions. In addition to the two trips, the winning team will receive a total of $3,000 US and six-month subscription extensions for free. The runner-up guild will have to settle with $2,000 US and a three-month subscriptions.

The Ragnarok World Champions will receive a team prize of $10,000 US in Korea, whereas the runner-up team will win $7,000 US and the third an fourth place guilds $5,000 US and $3,000 US respectively. The teams ranked fifth to tenth will receive $1,500 US each.
