05.26.04 - 1:45 AM

Koei has announced Vision 2006, a three-plan business plan for the current and next two fiscal years. According to the draft outlined today, Koei plans to strengthen and expand its global brand recognition. To achieve this aim, the company will look specifically at overseas markets when developing titles and expand its development studios overseas. As part of this new strategy, one original action game aimed at the North American and European markets and a second original title aimed at the Asian market will be released in 2006. Furthermore, the expansion of online game and mobile contents business in Japan and abroad will continue. The company also has high aims for GameCity. The online portal (which currently hosts the company's online titles, like Nobunaga's Ambition Online) is set to become a global network and communication brand, which can be accessed by users around the globe. Another cornerstone of the new business plan will be media mix and entertainment, as TV animation and related media mix projects will be strengthened. The same applies to development of original content and event business.
