E3: Bethesda Talks about the Newest Elder Scrolls Addition
05.12.04 - 5:34 PM

Despite, or perhaps in light of their recent success with The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind -- a title which faired extremely well on not only the PC but the Xbox as well -- Bethesda has revealed their upcoming addition to the series which will appear on the N-Gage sometime in the fourth quarter. Bethesda was kind enough to answer our massive volume of questions regarding this title, The Elder Scrolls Travels: Shadowkey.

Perhaps the biggest question about the release surrounded the decision to publish an Elder Scrolls title on the N-Gage. In response to our questions, a Vir2L Studios representative informed us that the intention to bring Elder Scrolls content to a mobile device has been alive for a while, and it was the hardware capabilities of the N-Gage that finally allowed fruition. Seeing the three demo levels certainly proved that the compact system carries the capability to deliver depth in both 3d content and the scope of gameplay that has come to be expected of the series. A positive response is anticipated for the release, and the N-Gage community has already expressed their interest in the title.

To alleviate concerns Elder Scrolls fans may be having, Bethesda has every intention to continue development of the series on the PC and Xbox. Calling the series their “bread and butter”, RPGFan was assured continued support of these two mediums.
