Banpresto Releases Financial Figures and Talks Future
05.10.04 - 1:05 PM

Banpresto has released its financial figures for the previous fiscal year and also given an outlook on the current term today. Due to the delay of Super Robot Taisen MX for PlayStation 2, sales were down 5.2% (compared to the fiscal year 2002/2003) to 27.98 billion yen (249.29 million USD), with net profit dropping by 87.1% to 145 million yen (1.29 million USD). However, the Bandai subsidiary has given a positive outlook on the current fiscal year ending on March 31st 2005.

As prior investment for research and development expenditures of titles to be released during and after the current term has already been secured, the Banpresto management is optimistic to post better operating profit figures this year again. Apart from Super Robot Taisen MX, which will be released later this month in Japan, another major Super Robot Taisen title, an untitled new and innovative game, as well as a new Summon Night installment are in development.
