SCEA Announces Final Fantasy XI Marketing Campaign
03.19.04 - 2:08 PM

Sony Computer Entertainment America has begun a massive marketing campaign to raise consumer awareness of one its biggest online releases so far, the PlayStation 2 version of Square Enix's Final Fantasy XI. Unlike the game's Japanese version, the North American version will be available solely with Sony Computer Entertainment America's PlayStation 2 harddisk drive for $99.99 US. TV ads will run on all major networks and 23 cable channels until March 28th. Print and online campaigns in gaming publications as well as books such as Spin, Blender, Wired and Toyfare will run through June. Furthermore, major retail chains will put up point-of-purchase displays to promote the title.

Final Fantasy XI for PlayStation 2 will be available on March 23rd.
