Final Fantasy X-2 Snags AIAS Award

At yesterday's award ceremony is Las Vegas, Nevada, the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences presented the winners of its 7th annual achievement awards. Square Enix received the Outstanding Achievement in Character Performance - Female award for Tara Strong's voice acting as Rikku in Final Fantasy X-2 for PlayStation 2. The first-ever sequel to an installment of the main Final Fantasy series was also nominated in the categories Outstanding Achievement in Art Direction and Console RPG of the Year.

Final Fantasy X-2 was released in Japan in March 2003 and has sold about two million copies in the Land of the Rising Sun. Final Fantasy X-2 International + Last Mission, which was released last month, has sold more than 200,000 copies to date. Following its November 2003 release on this side of the Pacific, the game has sold more than one million copies in North America.
