Sony Computer Entertainment America Releases Online-Related Study
03.06.04 - 2:36 PM

Sony Computer Entertainment America has released the results of a study regarding online gaming habits. So far SCEA has registered 2.6 million online gaming users in North America, with more than 67,000 new registrations last month alone. The peak usage time of the services is between 5:00 pm and 11:00 pm, with males aged 18 to 24 making up 65% percent of the key audience playing during these hours. Pointing to a study conducted by Nielsen Media Research last year, which found an unusual decline of 8% among male 18-34 year old prime time TV watchers, SCEA concludes that video games may be drawing audiences away from TV programs.
