02.24.04 - 12:30 AM

Square Enix's sixth production team, headed by Toshirou Tsuchida, recently went on record to discuss their plans for the future. The team wants to update the websites of previous Front Mission installments, put up a message board, where users can voice their opinions, wishes or just ask questions. In addition, the team wishes to add Front Mission 4's Vanzers to the Front Mission Trading Arts line-up. As far as the series' newest installment, Front Mission Online is concerned, the developers want fans to show just a little more patience, while mentioning development of the online title was steadily progressing. An announcement regarding the game's beta test is expected to be issued soon. Interestingly enough, while not being able to go into any details, the team mentioned it was not just working on Front Mission Online, and that the Front Mission Project was not over yet.

Front Mission Online for PlayStation 2 and PC is set for a spring release in Japan. The series' previous installment Front Mission 4 was released in Japan on December 18th, selling 230,000 copies. The PlayStation 2 title will hit American retail store shelves sometime in June.
