02.17.04 - 2:50 PM

At today's extraordinary shareholders meeting, the founder and president of Sega's new No.1 shareholder Sammy, Hajime Satomi, has been appointed as chairman of Sega's board of directors. He will be joined on the board by Sammy's managing director Yoshiharu Suzuki.

Last December, Japan's largest producer of Pachislot machines purchased CSK's 22.5% stake in Sega, thereby becoming the parent company of one of Japan's largest third party publishers.
