Funcom has announced the newest expansion pack for its successful MMORPG Anarchy Online. Previously known as Towns of Rubi-Ka, Alien Invasion will emphasize the game's science-fiction aspect, as aliens are threatening the world of Rubi-Ka. Therefore, players have to defend their cities against the alien invaders. Users however are not limited to defending themselves against the unwelcome guests, but also can go on the counter-offense by boarding or attacking alien spaceships. Apart from the story-related alien attack, the expansion will also focus on greatly improving the game's social aspects. Players will be able to construct various types of houses as well as organization headquarters, build unique looking towns and create their own shops. Additionally, Funcom will implement an entirely new trade skill interface, new personal flying vehicles as well as new weapons, armor, clothing, items and quests.

Anarchy Online: Alien Invasion will be available sometime this summer.
