Nihon Falcom Posts Solid Financial Results

Nihon Falcom has released a round of impressive financial figures for the first quarter of its fiscal year ending on September 30th. Compared to the same period of the previous fiscal year, sales were up 175.2% to 430 million yen (4.07 million USD), with the net profit reaching 140 million yen ($1.33 million US). Royalties were up a whooping 822.2% due the company's agreement with Konami Digital Entertainment regarding the exclusive worldwide publishing rights for the console version of Ys VI: The Ark of Napishtim. The release of the game's PC version as well as the Korean operations related to Ys Online also contributed to the positive results. During its third quarter, the company will release its next major PC title, Eiyuu Densetsu VI (Legend of Heroes) in Japan. For the full fiscal year, Nihon Falcom expects sales of 1.3 billion yen ($12.31 million US) and a net profit of 220 million yen ($2.08 million US).
