Square Enix to Strengthen Chinese Operations
02.08.04 - 2:12 AM

Square Enix will permanently set up a development studio in Shanghai to strengthen its operations on the growing mainland Chinese market. The company will hire local developers to create PC-based online titles. Previously, games released in mainland China such as the popular MMORPG Cross Gate have been exclusively developed in Japan. Furthermore, Square Enix vice-president Keiji Honda will permanently move to the office in Shanghai to oversee his company's planned expansion in the Chinese market.
