02.05.04 - 1:05 PM

Koei has posted its finanical results for the first three quarters of the fiscal year ending on March 31st. The makers of Romance of the Three Kingdoms and Nobunaga's Ambition continued their success story, as net profit was up by 33.7% to 2.8 billion yen ($26.55 million US) on sales of 15 billion yen ($142.23 million US), which translates to an increase of 5% on a year-to-year comparison. In Japan, the company has released five PC and nine PlayStation 2 titles. Led by the continued popularity of the PlayStation 2 smash hit Shin Sangoku Musou 3 (Dynasty Warriors), which now boasts worldwide sales of 1.86 million units, Koei keeps expanding outside of Japan. For the full fiscal year, the company expects sales to reach 29.3 billion yen ($277.83 million US) and a net profit of 7.2 billion yen ($68.27 million US). Should those projections turn out to be accurate, it would be the fifth consecutive sales and profit record for Koei.
