Square Enix has opened the official website for its CG DVD movie Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. While the site contains few new tidbits regarding the sequel to the company's most successful title, Final Fantasy VII, it was revealed that after two years of peace, the Northern Crater, where Cloud and his friends defeated Sephiroth in Final Fantasy VII, is showing abnormalities. This coincides with the occurance of an illness, called "Planet Scar Syndrome" which effects the entire world. All of the sudden three men appear in front of Cloud. And among them he sees the remnants of his old nemesis, Sephiroth.

On the site, Square Enix has also announced a Shinra Company Member application. Those who sign up for this campaign will not only be able to get their hands on exclusive wallpapers (in addition to the two openly available on the official site), but also win a lottery giving them the chance to get an individual Shinra Member card. More details regarding the campaign will be announced soon.

Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children will be available in Japan sometime in summer 2004.
