Final Fantasy XI Christmas Update Announced
12.16.03 - 3:33 PM

Square Enix has announced the newest update of its PlayOnline MMORPG Final Fantasy XI for PlayStation 2 and PC. The job level cap has been increased to 75. New magic spells along with a quest to obtain new weapon skills have been added, and the cabinet function in the Moogle House has been extended. Furthermore, the categories in the Auction House have been divided into smaller portions. In the initial three kingdoms, players can now mount Chocobos at level 15. As a Christmas special, Christmas trees have been set up in those three countries and players can get three different kinds of special Christmas items from Moogles. In San D'Oria, fireworks showing a Goblin Santa Claus will be fired off.

While these updates apply to the PS2 and PC versions of Final Fantasy XI worldwide, North American players still have to wait until early next year for the PS2 version of the game to hit stores.
