Square Enix Releases Half Year Sales Figures 11.20.03 - 11:26 PM Square Enix has released better than expected financial results for the first half of the fiscal year 2003/2004. The company posted a consolidated profit of 1.1 billion yen ($10.07 million US) on sales of 19.7 billion yen ($180.32 million US). During the first six months of the current fiscal year, total software sales reached 3.5 million units worldwide (see below for a detailed run-down). For the full fiscal year, the company predicts worldwide sales of 12.9 million copies (4.7 million copies in Japan, 5.1 million copies in North America and 3 million copies in Europe and 100,000 copies in other territories). This reflects Square Enix's release schedule for the second half of the fiscal year, which includes the PlayStation 2 remake of Dragon Quest V: Tenkuu no Hanayome, Hagane no Renkinjutsu (Full Metal Alchemist), Star Ocean: Till The End of Time Directors Cut and Final Fantasy X-2 International and Last Mission for the Japanese market, as well as Final Fantasy X-2 and Final Fantasy XI for North America.
