Funcom Names New Anarchy Online Assistant Game Director 10.21.03 - 9:47 PM Funcom has announced the promotion of Marius Enge to assistant game director of its hit MMORPG Anarchy Online. Enge, who previously served as game designer, customer service manager and lead GM on the title's development team, will take over the job of current game director Gaute Godager, who will move on to the development of a new MMOG title.
Describing his vision of AO's future, Enge mentioned that "It's too early to go into specifics on the next AO project, but one of my main visions for Anarchy Online is to further emphasize non-stop fast paced action, while continuing to strengthen what we are known for; fun and creative gameplay in a detailed and immersive sci-fi world."
Just before moving on to the new project, Godager reflected on his work with Funcom's most successful title: "Working with Anarchy Online has been one the most exciting things I have ever done. Anarchy Online has been, no, IS so much my baby as anything else I have ever made! It is very hard to let go, I must admit. Still, I will not stop playing it, participating and caring especially about the community that is, at least I think so, the best in any MMORPG on the market! Six full years is a long time, though. It is time to let some other talents have a crack at it. Good Luck Marius." RPGFan will keep you posted on all future developments regarding Funcom's new projects. |
