Weekly Japanese Sales Charts Update

Konami's Jikkyou Powerful Pro Baseball 10 for PlayStation 2 sold 284,686 copies upon its debut, thereby easily taking the first spot in this week's edition of the Japanese sales charts. Konami's Hideo Kojima-directed Game Boy Advance action RPG Bokura no Taiyou (Boktai) entered the charts at spot 8, selling 23,313 copies during its first week. The GBA versions of Nintendo's Mother (Earthbound) 1 + 2 slipped out of the top 10, selling 12,417 copies this week and a total of 214,817 copies on spot 13.

Another new entry can be found at spot 14, as Banpresto's Dragon Drive World D Break for Game Boy Advance sold 11,813 copies. Continuing their almost never-ending ups and downs in the charts, Pokémon Sapphire and Ruby dropped to spots 15 and 18 this week, selling 11,008 copies (for a total of 2,246,906 copies) and 10,392 copies (for a total of 2,187,380 copies) respectively. Square Enix's light-hearted PlayStation 2 title Hanjuku Eiyuu Tai 3D (Hanjuku Hero VS 3D) fell to spot 22, by selling 7,695 copies this week and reaching a total of 139,148 copies.

With Banpresto's Super Robot Taisen Compact 3, the first WonderSwan Color title in quite a while has found its way into the charts. The strategy RPG sold 7,565 copies, thereby debuting at spot 23. By selling 4,964 copies this week and a total of 53,561 copies since its June 26th release, Koei's strategy RPG Sangokushi Senki 2 (Dynasty Tactics 2) for PlayStation 2 dropped from spot 11 to 29. Princess Soft's PlayStation 2 adventure title Marginal - Ano Toki no Tooi Yakusoku wo entered the charts at spot 41, selling 3,050 copies in its first week. Square Enix's second title in the charts, the GBA RPG Dragon Quest Monsters: Caravan Heart fell from spot 29 to 42, by selling 2,960 copies this week and a total of 552,155 copies.

Yet another new entry came in at spot 44, with Broccoli's PS2 adventure First Kiss Monogatari selling 2,713 copies. Nintendo's strategy title Fire Emblem: Rekka no Ken (to be titled simply Fire Emblem in the US) slipped from spot 32 to 45, having sold 2,663 copies this week and a total of 232,852 copies since its April 25th release. Gust's Viorate no Atelier: The Alchemist of Gramnat 2 for PlayStation 2 came in at spot 49, after selling 2,468 copies this week and a total of 43,154 copies.
