In the current issue of Weekly Famitsu, Square Enix shed some light on the development status of the WonderSwan Color remake of Final Fantasy III. The project is apparently being continued, despite a steady streams of rumors suggesting it had been cancelled. However, Square Enix commented that it was currently dealing with storage-related problems, as the original Final Fantasy III was released in the final phase of the Famicom. The company was also asked about the possibility of a game starring both Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest characters, a la Nintendo's Super Smash Bros. Melee. Square Enix made it clear it had no plans whatsoever to develop such a title.

Atlus mentioned it is currently focusing attention on reviewing Shin Megami Tensei NINE's systems and content. While the title's offline version was released for Xbox in Japan last December, the online version's relase was temporarily cancelled and the title won't be available in Japan at any time during the current fiscal year, which ends on March 31st, 2004.
