At E3, Konami Computer Entertainment America has announces some new details regarding the North American version of Bokura no Taiyou, known as Boktai: The Sun Is In Your Hand in the US. The Hideo Kojima-directed action RPG will be the first title incorporating sunlight into its gameplay, utilizing a solar sensor build into the GameBoy Advance cartridge. The game tells the story of Django, a vampire hunter whose job is to hunt the dangerous bloodsuckers in deep, dark dungeons. His skills during day time are far superior to those at night. On the other hand, vampires are weaker during the day than they are at night. The amount of time a player spends under the real sun will have a direct effect on Django's powers, the strengths and weaknesses of his enemies and the game's overall outcome. To dispose of vampires, spiders, zombies and other enemies, the protagonist relies on his solar gun, a lethal weapon capable of killing enemies by exposing them to sunlight.

Boktai: The Sun Is In Your Hand will be available in Japan on July 17th. The North American version will follow sometime in September 2003.
