05.09.03 - 5:12 PM

Square Enix has released a joint financial statement for the last fiscal year ending on March 31st, 2003. Square and Enix (as the merger only took effect on April 1st) together posted sales of 62.1 billion yen (530.63 million USD) last FY, compared to a projected 61 billion yen (521.23 million USD). Consolidated profit was 16.5 billion yen (140.99 million USD). Earlier projections spoke of 14.8 billion yen (126.46 million USD). Weak sales of Enix's Star Ocean: Till the End of Time were more than compensated by strong sales of various Square titles including Final Fantasy X-2 and Kingdom Hearts.

Square Enix will publish a total of 19 titles during the current fiscal year, among them Hanjuku Hero VS 3D, Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles, Shinyaku Seiken Densetsu (Sword of Mana in the US) and Drag-on Dragoon (to be called Drakengard in the US).
