Atlus To Post Lower Than Expected Profit

Atlus will post a lower than expected profit for the fiscal year ending on March 31st. Instead of 1.1 billion yen (9.15 million USD), the company now only expects to post a consolidated profit of 300 million yen (2.50 million USD). The reason for this decline are sluggish sales of two key titles: Shin Megami Tensei 3: Nocturne for the PlayStation 2 and Shin Megami Tensei Devil Children: Book of Light and Darkness for the GameBoy Advance. Atlus sold 270,000 copies of the former (compared to earlier projections of 350,000 copies) and only 80,000 copies of the latter (compared to projections of 240,000 copies).

Atlus currently has various projects in development: A new Shin Megami Tensei title, an untitled PlayStation 2 MMORPG and the online version of its Xbox RPG Shin Megami Tensei NINE.
