Nintendo announced yesterday that pre-orders for The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker for the GameCube have reached 560,000 in North America, breaking the previous record set by Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. This comes as little surprise, as fans who pre-ordered the title early, received both Ocarina of Time and OoT: Master Quest as a pre-order bonus.
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker is set for a March 24th release in North America. The game was released as The Legend of Zelda: Kaze no Takuto in Japan in December, selling over 600,000 copies to date.
