In its recent issue, Weekly Famitsu scored several upcoming PlayStation One and PlayStation 2 titles, among them Red Entertainment and Overworks' PS2 remake of Sakura Taisen, titled Sakura Taisen: Atsuki Chishio Ni. Famitsu's four reviewers apparently liked the remake of the 1996 Saturn classic, rating the game with 35 out of 40, thereby awarding it a platinum award.
Gust's simulation RPG Taisho Mononoke Ibunroku and Kid's adventure game Iris for PS2 each received a platinum award for scoring 30 out of 40. Princess Soft's Happy Breeding and Datam Polystar's Guardian Angel received scores of 28 out of 40, while the reviewers handed Bandai's PS One game, Tenshi no Shippo, a 25 out of 40 score.
