Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter, the fifth original installment in Capcom's classic RPG series, has been released for Sony's PlayStation 2.
Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter promises to be a departure from other games in the series, with a radical new visual style, an advanced combo system, and a new survival type of game play, where players must decide whether to run or fight in different circumstances.
Dragon Quarter also contains a Positive Encounter and Tactics System (PETS) system that allows players to set traps and decoys, along with a Scenario Overlay System (SOL), where a player's accomplishments, experience points, and items carry over to a newly restarted game.
In Dragon Quarter, you will play as Ryu, a Ranger for an underground civilization who leads a team of citizens back to the earth's surface. Once aboveground, the explorers will battle monsters and other enemies.
Also available is Bradygames' Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter Strategy Guide, containing a comprehensive walkthrough, detailed maps, boss tactics, and additional bonus material that promises to increase the replay value of the game.
Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter is rated "T" (Teen) and carries an MSRP of $49.99.
