Summoner: The Prophecy Coming to GameCube It's no secret that the GameCube doesn't have quite as many RPGs in the pipeline as the PlayStation 2, but the gap is slowly closing. Helping the situation along is new developer Cranky Pants Games, operating under THQ. Cranky Pants is working on bringing the PS2 RPG Summoner 2 to the GameCube. More about the game has been updated than just the name, however. Summoner: The Prophecy will also feature improved polygon counts on character models and better texturing. The game is also to feature smoother animation, and runs at a slick 60 frames per second. In addition, the audio quality will be slightly better than that of the PS2 version. Also, for those wondering how the game will control (considering the PS2 does technically have more buttons on its controller), Cranky Pants has mapped all of the controls to the GameCube controller as well. Summoner: The Prophecy is scheduled for a January 13 release, and should retail for $39.99. |
