Sonic Team is currently working on an update to its GameCube online RPG, Phantasy Star Online Episode I and II. The upgrade will be based on the US version of the game and feature improved network connectivity. Players will be able to transfer their saved character data to the upgraded version, however by doing so, they will lose all their items. Users who play offline or have yet to experience any problems during online play can stick to the original version.
Sega plans to ship Phantasy Star Online Episode I and II Ver. 1.1 later this month. For those who have previously purchased the original game and a hunter's license, the update will be free of charge. Upon sending in their game, they will receive the update and additionally, a squash as a present.
