.hack Vol. 2 Tops Japanese Sales Charts After only one week at the top spot, Sega's online GameCube RPG Phantasy Star Online Episode I and II was kicked off the top of the sales charts by the second volume of Bandai's PlayStation2 RPG .hack, titled Malignant Mutation. The latter sold 119,136 copies in the first four days after its release. PSO Episode I and II sold an additional 16,615 copies bringing its total to 80,477. Other best-selling games covered by RPGFan include Enix's GameBoy Advance RPG Samurai Evolution Oukoku Geist at the ninth spot, with 11,863 copies sold as well as Kadokawa Shoten PlayStation One RPG Romance ha Ken no Kagayami II at 10 (11,258). Pushed by the release of the second game, the first volume of .hack moved up eight spots to 23 to sell 4,485 copies for a total of 186,847 copies. Konami's Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Monsters 7 for GBA and Genso Suikoden III for PlayStation 2 came in on spots 31 and 33, selling 2,983 and 2,828 copies respectively. Since its release, Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Monsters 7 sold 203,570 copies while Genso Suikoden III pushed its grand total to 350,977 copies. Banpresto's Super Robot Taisen R for GBA sold 2,953 copies (for a total of 251,598) to reach spot 32. |
