Enix has announced the release dates of its two major titles for the current fiscal year. The third Torneko game, which is developed by Chunsoft, will retail on October 31st for 6,800yen (57.48USD). Tri-Ace's highly anticipated third Star Ocean installment, Star Ocean 3 Till The End of Time will follow on November 28th, carrying a retail price of 7,800yen (65.93USD).
The company also released updated financial numbers for the current fiscal year. For the full FY2002/03 Enix expects a 23% decrease in net profit down to 3.3 billion yen (27.89 million USD). The reduced projections were blamed on the delays of the two key titles mentioned above. In particular, the numbers for September show the dramatic decline: Net profit and sales forecasts for September are down from a projected 1.3 billion yen (10.99 million USD) to 690 million yen (5.83 million USD) respectively, 190 million yen (1.61 million USD) compared to the previously forecasted 2 billion yen (16.9 million USD). The company originally planned to release Star Ocean 3 in September, selling between 700,000 and 800,000 copies. As a result of the financial woes, Enix will cut the dividend paid for one share by 5 yen down to 25 yen (0.21USD).
