Atlus has announced Devil Children Light and Dark Book for GameBoy Advance. As usual for a game related to the Shin Megami Tensei series, the setting is Tokyo in the year 200X. The main character of the Light version is Jin, a 6th grader at junior high school; the Dark version will star a young girl named Akira as the protagonist. Other characters include Lena and Ami. The three classmates Jin, Akira and Lena love to search for mysterious things. One day they end up finding a Devil Picture Book and who comes jumping out of it? Exactly, two devils. The kids are told that they have been chosen by fate to become so-called Devil Children. Suddenly the high school building becomes the entrance into the time of Yugami. Here time and space are locked out and our heroes have to find a way out of this mess.
The game will feature more than 360 different devils, 150 of them being entirely new creations, while others will receive a face lift. You can summon up to three devils to participate in a battle at the same time. There are four different ranks for devils and as you level up your little pet beasts their appearance might change as well. Another option is to merge two devils.
Devil Children Light and Dark Book is currently listed for a release sometime this year in Japan.
