Tales of Destiny 2 Unveiled Namco has unveiled today their PS2 RPG Tales of Destiny 2, one of the four Tales games currently in development. To be released in December in Japan, Tales of Destiny 2 has nothing to do with the eponymous PS game released in September in North America; the latter is actually Tales of Eternia, third game of the series, and story-wise unrelated to the original Tales of Destiny. Tales of Destiny 2 follows the story of Kyle Dunamis, the son of Stahn Aileron and Rutee from the first game, 18 years after the original story. The boy, aged 15 at the time the game starts, has grown without knowing his father since he was always away on adventures. Kyle is dreaming to become a hero, like his father. A mysterious girl named Reala will join him on his adventures. The first few screen shots and some Mutsumi Inomata artwork can be found in our pictures section. The game is reported to be 30% completed, and there is no word on a possible US release, though if that happens, Namco of America may not feel so clever for renaming Eternia anymore. |
