Management Reshuffle At SCEA In a move aimed to focus increasingly on delivering broadband gaming, Sony Computer Entertainment of America has promoted several members of its management team to executive positions. Andrew House, formerly senior vice president of marketing, as well as sales executive Jack Tretton were promoted to the positions of executive vice presidents and became officers of SCEA's Tokyo-based parent company, Sony Computer Entertainment. While both House and Tretton will keep their respective duties, from now on Tretton will also oversee SCEA's internal development studios. Furthermore Jim Bass, vice president of finance, has been promoted to the position of Chief Financial Officer. Last but not least Masayuki Chatani, previously in charge of technological issues at SCE, will now be in charge of coordinating SCE's broadband plans as well as dealing with the company's partners, AOL Time Warner and RealNetworks. Chatani will now report directly to SCE President Ken Kutaragi, or on matters concerning the North American market, to Kaz Hirai, CEO of SCEA. |
