RPGs Strike Back In the Charts With the World Cup in Japan and South Korea ending only today, we have had yet another slow week on the Japanese sales charts with the best selling game, Sony Computer Entertainment's Popolocrois III: Hajimari No Bouken, ticking in only 89,373 copies, followed up by Bandai's .hack on spot 2 with 81,105 copies sold. Konami's Tokimeki Memorial: Girl's Side and Enix's Dragon Quest Monsters 1 and 2 came in 4th and 5th, selling 32,889 and 19,485 copies, respectively. Datam Polystar's newest dating simulation for PlayStation 2, Roomate Asami, sold 8,183 times to clinch spot 10, while Square's Kingdom Hearts, at spot 15, still prolonged its stay in the top 20 for another week, selling 4,738 to reach a grand total of 774,670. Last but not least, we have Final Fantasy XI falling 11 spots down to 33 with 1,867 copies sold this week for a total for 98,638. |
