Post E3: NCSoft On Mac OS X Support

Lineage has been available for Windows-based PCs for a while now. Recently, NCSoft released a Mac OS X version. With a Lineage sequel coming up (appropriately titled Lineage II, along with new titles such as the superhero MMORPG, City of Heroes, the question that arises from the (admittedly small) Mac gaming community is, will they come to Mac as well?

The short answer: maybe. The long answer is a little more detailed. So far, the Mac OS X version of Lineage is doing 'okay' according to NCSoft. Of course, they are aware of the small size of the Mac market compared to the rest of the PC world (about 5% are Mac-based). Depending on how well it does, they may bring Lineage II and City of Heroes (or possibly other new titles) to the Mac eventually.

As it stands now, the best Mac fans can do is to go to Lineage.com and download the game. You can play for free for 30 days, at which point there’s a charge of $15 per month (depending on your form of payment) for online play. Players can also e-mail NCSoft and let them know how many fans would like a Mac version of upcoming titles.
