As was announced in January, Fresh Games will publish Legaia 2: Duel Saga in the US. In the game, you assume the role of Lang, a rookie member of the Nohl militia. The story begins when the magical “Water Crystal,” which supplies an infinite amount of water to the village, is stolen by a man named Avalon. A solar eclipse then shrouds the land in an evil light, which like the fog from the first game creates monsters. Also, as in the first game, Legaia 2 will incorporate the Tactical Arts system that will allow players to enter a series of directional button inputs to call up special attack combos and maneuvers.
Unlike the first game, though, players will be able to use Origins, which assist characters in fighting battles and solving puzzles. Each playable character will have a different Origin available. Origin's can be used for battling enemies, healing injured party members, and destroying barriers.
Players will also have the option of combining different items to create more powerful and useful weapons and tools. Legaia 2 will also incorporate numerous mini-games, like darts, slot machines, and roulette, for when you get tired of the RPG aspect.
RPGFan has 10 new screens of the game in action, as well as 2 new pieces of art. Legaia 2: Duel Saga is to be released on October 1, 2002.
