E3: Dynasty Tactics Media Update

One of the more understated displays in the Koei booth is their new strategy-RPG, Dynasty Tactics. The game features a similar look and feel to Kessen, Dynasty Warriors, and Romance of the Three Kingdoms, only with the slight twist of being strategy-oriented.

As opposed to the action-based gameplay found in the other titles mentioned, all commands are given ahead of time in strategic fashion. A gridded map displays all the units available, while arrows denote the planned movement of other units. The player sets up their turn in advance, trying for the tactical advantage with combos and other tandem attacks, and the "turns" are executed in cinematic form. The cinematic representation of battles is very much similar to Kessen and the like, offering a detailed view of the battlefield.

We have 12 screens and 4 pieces of artwork at the moment, with more in-depth impressions to come.
