New Shining Force In Development

In a recent press conference in Japan, Sega revealed plans for a new game in the Shining Force series. While a release date and platform weren't discussed, this is still good news for fans of the series, who haven't played a new Shining Force since the Saturn's SFIII in 1997.

Since this info is extremely preliminary, the actual development team isn't known at this point. Camelot Software Planning was behind Shining Force III and its 3 scenarios, and considering their close ties with Nintendo, if they are behind this new game, it's highly possible the game will end up on GameCube. But then, that's all speculation. Fact-based speculation of course, but speculation none the less.

In related, and non-RPG news, Sega also announced the following:

- A new untitled Sonic game, which is to be similar to Sonic Adventure;
- A new untitled Sega Rally game;
- A new (yes, untitled) The House of the Dead title, in addition to the Xbox's The House of the Dead 3;
- And finally, Virtua Fighter: Evolution, which is more or less an upgraded Virtua Fighter 4.

VF: Evolution is due in Japan in August, while the other titles have no dates as of yet.
