Microsoft has recently announced that ExtremeTech, the technology enthusiast website launched by Ziff Davis Media, will use the critically acclaimed Dungeon Seige as a key part of their benchmark suite to test the multitude of computer systems, graphics cards, and processors that they review.
The benchmark is a non-interactive demo in which a character runs through various aspects of the world of Dungeon Siege. Dungeon Siege's "continuous world" technology incorporates resources from the CPU, graphics, and memory during gameplay, and makes it a very good all-around system test for benchmarking standards.
