Players will be able to pick from eight different playable species, and then have the option to customize their character to their liking. Classes will be featured: Jedi, merchants, smugglers, bounty hunters and more. Since the game's setting is during a galactic civil war, players can also join the Rebel or Imperial sides, or remain neutral.

The universe of Star Wars Galaxies will span both familiar and never-before seen worlds, and include various types of vehicles to reach them.

Beta applications are currently being accepted for Star Wars Galaxies. The first phase of testing will begin on July 15th, followed by the release of the retail version in the fourth quarter of this year.
