VM Japan Announced Nihon Falcom has announced the development of a new simulation RPG, called VM Japan - Vantage Master - Mystic Zar Zast. The game's background story is partly based on real historical facts: After the end of the period of the war between opposing countries, Japan was ultimately united under the rule of the Tokugawa shogunate at the beginning of the 17th century. However, the world of VM Japan is anything but stable or happy, as a ceremony named Falling Stars has brought hardship to Japan. The people are suffering as the country is being dragged into depression, instability and resentment soon after. The game tells the story of eight characters who try to survive under those unfortunate circumstances. Himika, a Shinto sorceress, Momosuke, a swordsman, Lorenz, a so-called "half" (a child with Japanese and foreign paternity), the nature-loving Shuren, the daughter of a landlord by the name of Kikuka, a samurai named Rokurou, the sinful priest Takuwan and Satsuha, a Chinese immigrant and priest. VM Japan will feature scenario, free and network modes. In the scenario mode the player can choose between four levels of difficulty and afterwards play through the game on his/her own. The free and network modes on the other hand will offer more freedom. No release details for VM Japan have been released as of now. |
